Hi everybody! I've been lurking on hear for a couple of weeks now and would like to introduce myself and say thanks to everyone on here for all the informations and entertainment.

I found a 2006 Scorched Yellow S3 w/ only 6k on the clock. Well cared for, although the brakes were a little soggy as the previous owner was an older guy who didn't ride it much. After a good flush and bleed the problem was righted (there was a really tricky bubble in the upper banjo bolt by the master cylinder- had to bend the bike down low and tap on the lines!)

Now I need to change the oil asap as he said that he used Mobil 1 Synthetic CAR oil! I'm going to put some Amsoil in as that's what we use at work, but heard that Triumph recomends Mobil 1 Synth M/C oil. Is it worth the price diff over the Ams M/C oil?

Anyway, just wanted to say and that I love the bike!!!
I did about 15k a year on my last bike so I hope this one will be able to keep up with me!

Cheers mates,
Sean

Congrats on a beautiful bike. Sounds like a screaming deal. As to the oil, it is the perpetual debate topic on this forum. To be honest, the topic gets a little old but everyone asks it initially.

Cantenaccio, I know the oil question is as old or older than the forum itself, I'll just try the Amsoil and if the clutch doesn't slip I'll stick with it.

Any other riders in the Central Florida area?

Gi'day spk, Nice choice Mate, I've always gone for Mobil 1 Racing 4T as Triumph stipulates and never had any problems.
Are you a Kiwi based in Florida or an American based in Nelson??

I keep telling people...LOL....use REPSOL full synthetic oil. Stuff is great. I use it in my Honda CBR1000rr...REPSOL spnsors Honda's racing team. GREAT oil.

You may not feel your clutch slip with that other oil NOW because it's new. But as the clutch wears you might ge premature slippage compared to if you used the proper MC oil.

Congrats on the bike. Looks nice and I'm DAM jealous!!!

I was born and raised in the States. Went to NZ last year to work for a few months and will probably be back to work for the full summer coming up. I'm even considering relocating there permantly. I love Nelson and NZ altogether. Beautiful riding down there!

As for the tires, there Dunlop Sportmax. They're a touring tire, not a full sport or race. They wear a lot slower, and, being in Florida, lots of flat, straight roads and wet weather. Don't really need anymore traction to go in a straight line!!
