Anybody have any experience with removing the sivler coating from the frame to polish it? 01, by the way.

yikes that would be a chore...

need to strip it, blast it and sick a buffer to it

i say stick to the paint

I saw one for sale once with a polished frame, it didn't look right for the bike in my opinion. You would definetly have to strip the bike down to the frame in order to do a reasonable job.

My frame is polished. The guy that did it for me didn't strip the whole bike down. He removed the plastics then used oven cleaner to remove the paint from the frame... pealed right off!

The polishing didn't look to difficult. Once the paint was off the frame polished up like chrome. He only polished the outside of the frame that's visible. Had it done back in '00 and it's still holding up well. He polished the wheels also but they were a ***** keep up so I went with chrome...which is a bit too bling but I was already down the path... I'd have the frame painted red instead of polishing it I think that would look hot with a black speedy.
maybe some red rims while you're at it :P
