An oggy nob has ripped off the front right engine mount and frame mount after a minor fall,no other damage other than a handlebars bent.I need to take the motor out to have this mess welded and I am all ready to go and was wondering if 2 men could lift it or do I need to rig up a jack of some kind ?By the way its a bad idea to locate oggy nobs off this mounting point.

I agree. The skateboard wheel style crash bungs are a bad idea in general. Especially as they seem to get longer and longer. There is no mounting point sturdy enough on a modern aluminium frame & engine bike to handle the major leverage of a 200kg+ bike sliding down the road leaned on a single long bolt/bung.

Sorry, no idea about exact engine weight but I'd go with a jack.

Two men can handle it.It will probably be easier if it's not at ground level, but either way it's not that heavy.

thanks for replies. The bike is on a bike lift so its at waist height but I was thinking a maybe a jack set up would be good for putting it back.

Two people can easily lift a motor from dead weight.
Motor on a pallet/enclosed wooden crate lifted from floor into back of SUV - no problem estimate ~ 250 lbs.

I actually removed & installed my motor by myself, but that is manhandling with a jack & tie down straps (cradled around top frame rails and under the motor)

Bought a $185 ATV lift to get the motor out and it would not fit .
In a fit of workshop rage I just stuck my wifes massage towels under the engine and pulled the engine mount bolts and jacked the bike off
the motor at the bottom shock link pivot.Turns out it only weighs about 70kg as I lifted on to the work bench by my self. :hammer:

I bought this bike very cheap from an auction already damaged, but I know it was a minor spill because of so little damage to the rest of the bike. The guy thats welding it said its a common repair on late model bikes.I am keeping the bike and will not be fitting oggy nobs. There is no place strong enough on this frame to mount them other than the 2 bottom mounts which would be pointless.
