Regarding the new Street Triple
Does anyone know what that will mean for the S3?
Will this bike still be in production?

The Street Triple is a 675, the Speed Triple is a 1050. It's just another way to attract new riders, or those who don't want or need liter power. It should also cost less to insure.
Even Ducati offers multiple displacements for the Monster,

I tend to agree - no big impact on the 1050 that I can see.
Potential Triumph buyers that want a naked litre bike will still buy the 1050 and those potential Triumph buyers scared off by a litre bike will have an alternative.
Just more trumpys on the road in my opinion.

Ironically, the 675 will be lighter and faster. The S3 will feel faster because of the torque, but the 675 will slowwly pull away after 100mph.

we can't assume the motor will be identical to the D675, i expect it will be cammed down a little much like the Sprint and Tiger are vs the S3. I dunno how often you ride your speedy over 100mph for any length of time, but thats not what i bought mine for. At any rate, in comparison to the speed triple, the street triple is kinda ugly. Some of the reasons why i bought a speed triple would turn me off of a street triple.

+1
The relation to the speed3 in the street3 is obvious, but the proportions just don't work as well and the shots I've seen so far look like the tank's too angular and, call me biased, but it doesn't present as well when it hasn't got the bulk of the 1050.
C'mon, the S3 started and has evolved with the bigger block,.. the 675 is a compromise to get more riders on board - great idea, good for Triumph, but the street3 will stand on its own rather than compare directly to the speed3 I'd reckon...

I think it could well have an impact, probably not major, but it's all good for Triumph. I hope they are patient with the Street 3, as I think it will be largely fed by the reputation of the 675, which I think is still growing. I can see the Street 3 impacting sales of the 675 more perhaps, but I'm not a sportbike guy, so I'm not sure of the varying appeals of each...

Thats fine and dandy...but I don't race, let alone past 100mph. So the low end of the 1050 will do just fine for me.

The Street3 (have we agreed on a shortened name yet?) is the closest thing to an entry-level bike Triumph will have, with the possible exception of the Bonnie Black, which has a bigger engine but more weight. The Speed3 is not a beginner bike (despite the fact that a few folks here bought it as their first ride).
It should compete well against the SV650 and FZ650, not to mention the baby monsters. It might take a small bite out of S3 sales, but that's a good thing - folks wshould start with the lower displacement.

I think the ST3 ( :upthumb: ) will pull some sales from both the Datoyna675 and the SpeedTriple, but not anything significant.
There's gonna be some folks who like the D675, but are turned off by the extreme ergos and some others who like the SP3, but want something lighter/sharper handling or don't feel they need 120 hp.
If it had come out a year earlier, I would have definitely taken a close look at it. In the end, I'd have been a little turned off by the looks and the budget suspension (and probably the lack of power, which I'm betting is gonna be around 90hp to the wheel).
It'll be quicker than Speedy on a tight twisty road, but I'd be very, very surprised if it's faster, despite the weight difference.
