As I mentioned in an earlier post I recently swapped the stock 1/4 turn throttle tube for a 1/5th turn. Well, tonight I took Speedy out for her first test ride with the new gear and the difference was noticeable. Firstly, acceleration was slightly easier due to the shorter throw and WOT came sooner. This made it feel faster (while of course it wasn't) because smaller throttle inputs caused greater acceleration. On the down side, bumps in the road and other jolts had a bigger affect as the throttle hand gets jostled around a bit, ...that will take a little time to get used to and to get under control. Other than that I would say it was a good upgrade, especially when I go to the track, I won't have to stretch so far to get the throttle open.

Where did you get the tube from? Oddly enough I just posted a question about this and was recommended to find a 05 up throttle. A source would be appreciated. Due to factory work my wrists are just not quite happy at the bend I have to maintain to cruise at highway speeds. Thanks.

Here is the website to get a new throttle tube. It's off of a 03-05 R6 and works perfectly.

The only issue I have discovered is that the throttle cable housing is slightly larger than the end of the throttle tube and lets it wiggle slightly left and right. I can't recall if my old tube did that but I didn't notice it before. Is there anyway to remedy this? Although it doesn't affect my riding.
