I'm officially done with liter super bikes. Did my last track day 2 weekends ago....got 170mph sprints and dragging my knee around turns out of my system.

As of late, I have been thoroughly and hugely enjoying life in the slower lane and riding through twisty mountain and canyon roads all day here in southern Cali (still pretty fast though LOL ). This has evolved into my new riding style and pleasure.

My buddy has a 2006 SLOW AS A TURTLE SV650. Nice bike, but can barely get out of its own way. HOWEVER...he keeps right up with me with no problem in the twisties....and the thing is....he's AS comfortable at the end of 7 hours of romping as he was when we started. Whereas I am beat the hell up. Hands going numb every now and then, back hurting from time to time...constant adjusting and fidgeting all day. When I get home all I wanna do is crash out on the couch like I went 5 rounds with Tyson.

I've FULLY committed to purchasing a Speed Triple. But I REALLY REALLY want to avoid paying full price for a new one at the STEALERship. Problem is I can't find any S3's here in full black...preferrably a 2006 and up...used. My Honda CBR1000rr is on craig's list as we speak. Hopefully I get a buyer. I made sure it was priced lower than the other 3 CBR's in San Diego listed on there...except mine is highly modified too.

Anyways.....to be continued.

One of the reasons I bought my '06 Speedy was because it is very comfortable-- for me anyway. It is a real easy bike to whip through twisties, but you don't feel beat at the end of the day. Just be aware of the brake issue on some of the '06s. Swapped my Nissin calipers for Brembos.

yeah I've been reading about that brake issue. Thanks for the reminder. If I get a bike with squishy brakes I'll have the dealer do the fix, or mostly I'll up[grade to some Brembo set up.

Now if I can just get my hands on an S3.

North County Yamaha in San Marcos has had a blue one for a little while now. Low mileage--they'd probably deal.

Whoa, where'd you get Brembos to fit the S3? Last I checked, the only ones with the right bolt pattern were the monoblocks that run $850 / side. If there's a cheaper way to do it, please let me know. My Tokicos are better than the stock Nissins, but still not where I'd like 'em to be.
