Went thru and did the 500 miles service on my S3 today and noticed the brake light isn't working. I tried front and rear brakes with no luck. Also checked the fuses, and the one that appears to be brake is fine (checked with another good fuse)

Any ideas? Just figured I'd post up before I start digging in.

Did you try the brake with the ignition on? Unlike a car, the light doesn't work if the key is off.

If it still doesn't work, try unplugging the brake light and checking the circuit with a volt/ohm meter. Take the tester and plug a lead into each wire going into the brake light with the tester set for continuity. If it tests good, then check for voltage coming to the light. Of course, if you show open circuit on the light, the bulb is burnt.

Under the seat the lights split with small plugs. check and see if they are making enough contact.

Well on the '07 there is no bulb, pure LED's. And yes, the ignition was on. I know all about troubleshooting wiring, I was just hoping there was any easy fix that others may have ran into.

Did you check the switch adjustment? I lowered my rear brake lever with the linkage and failed to adjust the rear switch. As a result, neither the front rear brake levers would trigger the brake light.

Wow, now that's the advise I needed, I didn't think the rear pedal would counter the front brakes. I did lower both my foot controls, I'll look into it shortly.

DOH! Now I feel really dumb, if you were someone along the lines of my trip I'd swing by and give you a beer. I knew it had to be something simple. Thanks again!
