Hi guys,
I know this was covered b4 but my search ended without success. Started bike twice to show off new Zard! Of course I didn't ride it (I know I should have!) and now it laughs at me when I try to start it to go for a ride. What do I have to do? Just wait or is there a magic trick? HELP

Change the spark plugs - you have probably fouled them and the bike likely won't start without a fresh set. Never, ever, fire up a Triumph fuel injected bike rev it a couple of times and shut it off. These bikes run very rich on start up and need to run for a bit before shutting down - if you don't - the result is fouled plugs

Yeah I remember reading that now! Lesson learned.
All because I wanted to show off the 'flaming exhaust'.
Ooops.

Charge your battery. It could be that its low. It takes something like 15 minutes of riding to recharge just from a single start.

When you start, does it sound like it's getting compression?

It was turning over, just not firing. Tried 6 times over an hour and now battery is struggling. I will chase up new plugs on Mon morning. Cheers

FYI - if you wash down the cylinders (flood it trying to get it started), there was an earlier software version that would sense this, assume it meant there was a lack of compression and shut off the ignition - the only way to trick it back into firing again is to squirt a little oil into each cylinder.

There's a software update to correct this problem, but you'll have to ask your dealer to apply it. Normally, they'll have to call Triumph service to get the info. I was under the impression it only affected the 05's, but as the 06's rolled out at the end of summer '05, you might be prone to the same error.

If it's shut off the ignition system, when you crank it you'll hear a bit of a chirp, and it will sound like it's not getting any compression.
