I am looking at swapping out the stock for the 1/5th turn throttle tube to keep me from having to slightly overgrip to get to WOT without dropping my wrist so low. I found it irritating at the track today but don't know if the 1/5 would turn the S3 into an even more uncontrollable beast. Anyone use the 1/5? Or any opinions would be helpful. Oh, here is a pic.

I've been contemplating the same thing...appearantly the Buell Traxtion grips come with a 1/4 turn throttle and they're only about $20. What fraction of a full turn is the current throttle on an S3?

I got a kit from a guy in NY that reduced the stock twist to 55 %. From idle to WFO in one snap. For your 2 cable setup, check out Yoyodyne and look at the racing throttle with 3 different cams.Yoyodyne

Same 3 size racing throttle is available from carpimoto.it in black anodized finish:

I just might have to order one, even though the stock 1050 throttle has a smaller rotation than the 955, on the 1050 the WOT is still an annoying elbow drop away. Or you have to adjust your grip mid-acceleration.

I would have loved a 1/5th turn back when I was roadracing. I definitely would not want it on the street unless I had a good bit of slack in the cables so bumps and such wouldn't give any unwanted throttle inputs.

I've only had my bike a week but I'm about to go out and add a little slack to the stock throttle.

Is that pic from THill?

Yeah, ThunderHill was awesome but they ran it backwards that day so a lot of guys were thrown off, so to speak. It was my first time at that track so I had no issues besides turn 5 which was a ridiculously steep left-handed uphill followed by a very sharp right hander down hill. The problem was if you wait until you see the road at the crest of the hill you will overshoot the turn, you have to initiate the turn before you can even see over the hill which is a little disconcerting. Anyone know where I can find the 1/5th throttle tube????

+1 on the throttle slack. I'm a little nervous when going over bumps with the lady on the back!!
