Howdy,

I tried searching, but that search function is really hopeless.

Anyhow, is there a slipper clutch for 1050 S3? I rode my friends SV1000S and it has one. Downshifting aggressively is a lot more fun.

Thanks

My rear wheel slips... when I downshifting aggressively with clutch...might as well call it a slipperclutch :-D :hammer:

My Mille had one, V2's need it more cause the backwheel tends to lockup on 1 to many downshifts.

Pardon my ignorance (don't ride a S3 yet), but if you blip the throttle properly when downshifting, even aggressively, do you really need a slipper clutch on the S3?

Slipper clutches are meant for the racetrack, so that a racer can enter a corner in lower gear without sacrificing speed. They are really quite useless on the street, and may actually turn you into a worse rider...it takes some finesse to match engine speeds and downshift smoothly. Even worse, if you hop on a bike w/out a slipper and forget it doesn't have one you can expect a highside or bad skid at the least.

True. Still I would like the decreased likely hood of my rear wheel locking because I am being way too aggressive with her. It looks like its time to become proficient at matching the engine speed to the tire speed. Thanks guys/girls.

I was always under the impression engine braking was a good thing....

I don't even have one on my WR450, I'd love one sure but for 1K I'll just do the best I can with out since my name is not Jeff Ward.
