Evening all,

My wife and I are just looking in to a bike to use as a fun ride and commuter from time to time. I tried the Tuono R and Speed Triple 1050. Whilst I can't say I really noticed any major difference between the two on the road I can in the pocket.
We are in Australia and there is about $6k between the two in the shops.
I am obviously going to get some of the things like security chains, seat cowl and tank protector but do I need to get the dealer to throw in anything else to sweeten the deal or to make sure it stays running?

Also I have read the posts but are there any issues I need to worry about on a new bike?

Here in the US Triumph is or was offering $600.00 worth of incentives towards clothing or accessories.
I got the Triumph tank bag, grab rail, and eyebrow fairing thrown in on the deal.
The bag and grab rail are a must, but the fairing is subjective.
Don't know how much the dealer will drop his price where your at. I figure they have to make some money to stay in busness, and don't push them to hard. The important thing to me is how good is the service is not how cheap I can get the bike for.
I looked at the Tuono, but it didn't do it for me and they are to much money.
IMO don't look nearly as good as the ST.

only thing I'd warn you about in case you care about having the "latest". They made some changes to the 08. new tank, tail light, wheels, front brakes, and some other minor stuff. Not that big of a change but compaired to the diff between a 06 and a 07 the change is significant.

So if you care about that kind of stuff you could wait for the 08. but I think you'd miss this riding season waiting...

Hey MrPink, I don't think duncanp will miss the riding season, 'cos ours goes from June 1st thru til about May 31st. This is Western Australia, man.
I think you'll find the dealers a bit mean when it comes to freebies. I doubt you'll need the security chain and the no seat cowl if its for you and the missus to enjoy. Get the t-bar grab rail, for sure, she'll appreciate that. I ended up buying just a cheap black plasticy tank protector, it blends well on my black tank and looks better than CF, I reckon.
You'll need a loud pipe too, for the PFarmer tunnel!! That's a must, and a joy, trust me.

Don't know about the dealer but i'd go to a supermarket or chemist and get some nappies(disposable preferably)as you are probably gonna s*#t you dacks once you start doing wheelies on the f*#ker. :-D :hammer:
