By chance I test rode the S4RS and I have to be honest- if I had ridden this last before I bought my S3 I may have bought the Duck instead :???:
Top of the line brakes, shocks made this bike an all out streetfighter. At 80mph it felt like 40 on my S3, at 110mph it felt like 80 on my S3.............possibly due to the lower seat height. I'm 5'10 and I really like the riding position on the Duck.
Wheelies abound on this bike making me think something is wrong with my S3. All the stuff I've ever read about my S3 talks about how easy it is to wheelie but only 1st gear has worked for me.........2nd gear works after a hill and really yanking the bars to barely get up. The Duck however was so light in the front end it came up on it's own constantly. 2nd gear wheelies felt like the S3 does in first. Not to mention when the Duck was shooting the moon it was VERY well balanced.
Just wondering if anyone else has ridden this MONSTER?

Never ridden one, but I do not like the look... and I see too many of them on the streets... Plus I am not sure what I would do with any more power I already have on my S3 .... more tickets?

I haven't ridden one but when I bought the S3 it was between the S3 and the Monster S4RS. I got the S3 because it was $4000 cheaper, looked almost as good and the specs (on paper) where very similar.

I really like the Monster S4RS, it just cost too much. Maybe if I had ridden one I might have made a different decision.

Its rated at 130hp and 76ft lbs. I don't know if it actually gets that at the rear wheel, but that probably translates into about the same power. Considering it has a detuned Superbike motor, it could probably go a lot further naturally aspirated than our beloved Speed Triple...

Can't wait to see what the 1098 Monsters look like. If they just strip the 1098, they'll be sub 370lbs!

I love that bike, and the difference in build quality alone could justify the price difference. But S3 is one big bad engine on wheels, whereas the monster is, well, another monster.

Like I said I just cant figure out why the S3 is considered the wheelie machine because when you ride the S4 you realize that it is the true wheelie machine. 2nd gear wheelies were done without even trying whereas my s3 I'm beat after a few times trying. The S3 feels so heavy upfront compared to the Monster.

Is there something wrong with my S3? :???:
