All,

I am in the market for a Triple and my local dealer has a demo with approximately 1,100 miles with the following options:
fly screen
belly pan
tank pad
seat cowl
anodized radiator cowls

They are asking $10,900 out the door. Sales tax is 8.1% I dont know what the other costs are. Is this too high?

The manufacture date is 06/06.

Thank you

I think it's too late in the year to pay top dollar for a current year model. Especially for a demo bike. Regardless of the add ons.

Offer him about $1500 less and see what happens.

I'd say it's a bit high. Could be right, depending on market, if it was new. But with miles I agree with the others.

So let me get this straight. They want you to pay above MSRP for what is essentially a used bike?

That price is on the high-end IMHO. Besides Triumph still has a $600 in free accessories going on right now so you could get all of those things for free.

So, if I take MSRP ($9,999) times sales tax (8.1%), that equals $10,808.92 on a NEW model.

Now, if I'm local and plan on getting all of my service done at said dealer I get them to drop the BS freight and prep charges.

I tell them, they'll make that up and more in maintenance and service fees. They usually agree (it not I can take my business elsewhere). However, most of the dealers I've dealt with are "Big Picture" guys.

$9750 OTD sounds a little more reasonable?
