I've only logged 6k on my S3, ran through 1.5 sets of Pilot Powers with no problem. Or so I thought. Just put on a set of Diablo Supercorsas (SC0 rear, SC2 front) for the track, and have already run these tires about 2 weeks.
Wow, the difference is significant. Although I never unintentionally broke traction on the PP, when compared to the SC, they are "squirrley" and don't seem to hold high speed turns as well. SCs feel "more compliant" - more stable. Side-to-side transitions on the SC feel slower, but the bike behaves better and tends not to twitch as much. I'll have a solid comparison when I switch back to my PP's to finish off what's left on them.
Basically, you never know what you are missing out on (whether good or bad), until you try something else.
