If it's anything like a 03 remove tank see the air box (Big black box with scoops on top) remove all the screws holding it together (don't forget the one right in the middle). Simply remove the stocker and place in the new one. Reverse steps to assemble and enjoy. Not sure but a remap may be necessary hopefully some one will chime in. Hope this helps.

That's basically it. Also, don't mix up the two small black hoses that come straight down from the tank. The one with the box goes nearer the center of the tank (I think). You also have to disconnect the fuel line and the fuel pump electrical connector. Keep the tank relatively level and only a drip or two of gas will come out. Note: The K&N may not fit quite right. Make sure the sides are straight. You will have to remove the thin rubber gasket from the stock filter and fit it to the K&N. This is what mine looked like, and I sent it in for replacement:
