you should expect miles and miles of smiles! it will test your maturity constantly. and if you like miles and miles in one day, expect to get a seat.

I had a 04-1000ie.monster.
ducati 695 is good bike, S3's gonna be heavier up top, pull will be stronger, definitely taller....clutch is a lot quieter.

I never had a problem with the S3 seat, brakes were "progressive" = mushy (05 S3),
had the "Good Faith" repair, replaced master cyl.- works great.
I think the brakes on the newer S3's are fine.
I've owned mine for 2 yrs. W/ 12k+ miles... no problems.

if you're a top speed junkie, get a busa, You might break 160 with pipe and a tune.

The speed triple will handle the rest, comfort, very adequate cornering, great wheelie bike, fantastic pull from 3000k to redline. you need power?... rotate right hand.
no down shifting neccessary. roll ons starting from 70 mph to redline are a blast.

suks on the highway above 75 mph for extended traveling, ducati may be better with the little fairing.

get one, have fun. never look back.

Ducati Monster 695: a clinched fist.
Triumph Speed Triple: a clinched fist with a roll a dimes inside.

Welcome to the wrong side of the tracks!

Monsters are excellent bikes, albeit nearly double the cost to maintain over the Speed Triple. Long live the Desmodromic valves! LOL.

Get ready for some massive top end that you didn't get on your Duc. There's probably a thousand other details, none of which add up to any thing significant as both bikes will put a smile on your face.
