When Triumph came out with the first T5 Speed Triple (1997?) it used a fuel injected 885cc engine right? How much power did those bikes make? Were there any mods, like cam swaps, that netted significant power increase?

106 hp 68 ft lbs of torque (If memory serves)

Other Motorcycle: 2006 fjr1300
80-85 rwhp and mid to high 50's in torque....actually lower than the first generation T3 885cc motors! Go figure....

As for power upgrades, there weren't many. The smart one was to find a wrecked T595 and turn it into a S3 (if you didn't already have a S3) or get the T595 motor from a breakers and stick it in your S3. An instant 20 rwhp and 10 ft/lbs torque increase....

I was asking because Lady Stunta is looking for her second bike. She's been favoring the Kawasaki ZR7S, but adores the Speed Triple. 80hp, I believe, is a doable upgrade from her GS500.
