A question for New York riders

A mate of mine is in New York next weekend & with the strength of the pound against the dollar at the moment I want him to pick up a jacket for me. Can anyone recomend some good motorcycle clothing stores in Manhattan that sell Alpinestars gear, it needs to be reasonably easy to get to as he's doing me a favour.

Try the Triumph, Ducati Store on 155 Avenue of the Americas New York NY 10013 212-989-1414 Nice store, they just picked up the Triumph line. Good Luck

also if you are looking for something in particular and if your friend is staying at a hotel or even better, a relatives place, placing an online or telephone order from places like 'Newenough.com', 'motorcyclesuperstore', or even 'Amazon.com' and have them ship it to the hotel. NYC hotels will accept and hold packages for you, so long as you are staying there, I did it all the time.

Just an alternative to put in your bag of tricks if you are looking for an item that might not be at a motorcycle store.

I believe the Ducati-Triumph store in SoHo doesn't have the widest array of items as I recall, it's been almost a year so things might have changed, they no doubt carry Triumph and Ducati gear, you can likely give them a call and see if they have what you are looking for and in your size.

Hell, with the current exchange rate you can probably buy manhattan and get change...

Just a heads up on the Alpinestars gear,,,I dont know about their jackets,,,but i have had a pair of their gloves,,,,they were junk in my opinion, they wore out very fast,,,,had holes in the palms within 3 months, and their sizes are very small,,,I dont know about the jackets,,,I do have a pair of their motocross boots,,,they are made well,,,but the buckles break pretty easy

I'll keep looking on the internet for stores. I've got to make this as painless as possible for my mate as he's only there for a couple of days he's likely to tell me to fcuk off if it takes too much time/energy.
