After the bike warms up and I come to a light from going at speed the engine is idling a little rough. At a couple light I pulled up and put in the clutch and the the engine will stall. I hit the starter and it starts right back up. When it stalls the oil light comes on, is that normal?
Why is it stalling?

If it comes on after the engine has died, yes. If it comes on before, I'd be concerned about that.

Why is it stalling?

There are a lot of possibilities. When was the last time you checked the plugs? Could also be a weak igniter module. Are you pretty sure you're not pulling a vacuum in the tank from a vent line being blocked? Have the throttle bodies ever been balanced, and are you confident there are no air leaks in the air-fuel and exhaust systems? How about the O2 sensor? Have you installed different mufflers but not had the appropriate fuel injection map loaded? Does the check-engine light ever come on?

Like I say, lots of possibilities, and those are only the ones that come to mind at the moment. Might be worth a trip to a dealer, who would have good diagnostic tools and be able to find it a lot quicker than we're likely to do by "remote control" here.

Good luck.

well I just bought it a couple weeks ago, and only put 100 miles on it today.
So I'm not familiar with what is wrong or what has been done. I guess Ill take it to the dealers.

Just warm it up more. Mine needs at least 2 or 3 bars before it'll work properly.

Lots of possibilities but carboned up idle air control valve (idle speed control) is most likely.

So I used some Gum Out fuel injector cleaner, and it is running slightly better than before. It was only riden 40 miles after fillup.

Was it laid up for a long time before you bought it?

Exactly the same thing happened to me with my 01 ST, was a gummed up stepper motor.
