I have mine set at 6,000 right now, because I'm still doing the break-in. Just wondering what you guys set yours at after break-in. Do you set it at the 10,000 redline, or have you found an optimal shift point for street riding that you set it to?

Is it hard to set them up? Probably a stupid question but I'm just that lazy

Seriously, do you have them set the same for every gear? I read in the manual that you can set each gear differently.

Must be an '07 thing. It's easy to set up on an '06.

I didn't see anything in the manual about setting them for each gear, so I don't know how you would do that. The way they show to do it is not hard, but it sets it for all gears because it's just set based on engine rpm. Here's the basic instructions. I will refer to the three buttons as 1,2, and 3:

Press buttons 1 and 3 and hold for 4 seconds, the display changes to display "tacho".

Press button 2 and hold for 4 seconds, the tach needle will move to 3,500rpm.

Press button 1 and the needle increases by 1,000rpm.

When you get within 500rpm of your target, press button 2 and the needle will now move in 100rpm increments.

Press button 1 until you get to the desired RPM and you are done.

I'm just curious what others have set theirs to.

07 is easy to set as well. Just read the manual.

I have mine set to 9500 RPMs which should be the theoretical top H.P. However, if I were to set it up for drag/race I would set it a bit higher as to have the top H.P. in the center of shifts ~9,800 RPMS.

I set mine as high as it will go, and still just rely on the rev limiter to tell me when to shift. :-D Not to mention, I've increased my rev limit by 400 rpm.

my scooter has no rev limiter, it's fastest to shift when you feel valve float.

I set mine at 9K. That has not prevented me from hitting the limiter on occasion, though.
