Has enyone ever done that?

Is this what these guys are wearing here, or are they/there specific knee sliders made to wear over pants?

Not very orthodox, I know, but just wondering....

Well I have been skating for a few years now and have owned several skate knee pads.

These knee pads are designed to hold to the center of the knee, in the case of knee sliders you want them to be off set towards the side. I suppose you can twist the pad but might be less than comfortable. Also if they are centered on the knee I can see some big scratches to the tank occuring as these pads arent exactly soft.

However, the plastics they use for these pads are very low friction and slide easily across pavement which wouldbe a good thing.

If it were me, I would stick to some motorcycle specific sliders because I dont think you would like the extra scratchess on the tank.

Good points. Thanks.
So one question remains: is there any manufacturer making over-the-pants knee sliders?

Not joking, I wear bmx knee pads under icon jeans. Shadow Conspiracy (the brand name) makes a knee pad designed to be worn under clothes. They are called soft knees or something like that. They have hard plastic cups that are nicely shaped and kevlar cloth over them. This keeps them from messin' up your pants up from the inside. The pads are breathable and stay tight to your knees, so if you crash they protect you better than touring pants that have pads that float around. Less than $50, and well woth it. I've crashed bicycles wearing them really hard and I can still walk......so they are pretty good.

I have ridden in big-ole Pro Designs (the knee pads used by vert skaters). I couldn't get them down cause the center stand on my scooter hits. Sparks for miles YO!!

Thanks your answer.
That being said, I'm interested in over-the-pants knee sliders, not in under-the-pants knee protectors (that I already wear)...
