I don't really like the look of the triumph flyscreen, plus I'd like something that could be added and removed at will. The only thing I've found is this:

Givi Flyscreen

The look is ok--not great, but liveable. Mostly I'm looking for something to cut down on the wind if I take a longer trip. Has anyone had any experience with this item?

thanks,

Geof

Dude that thing looks like part of an egg shell. Mork call Orson, my egg is on some guys S3. I myself would get a windshield off of a goldwing, or better yet a vintage Vetter windjammer off of e-barf.

Fly screens are a personal thing, that's why I wear men's thongs (leapard print of course, Jersey represent!)

Here is another option... Although, its still not what I am looking for.

Can someone please fabricate something clean looking like the Ducati Monster or Buell Lightning?

Yeah, that's a bit ugly too. So far (to my eyes) the Givi is the least ugly choice (and that includes the triumph flyscreen). I prefer the look of the bike with nothing, but for longer trips I's like a little wind protection.

Here is mine. http://www.flickr.com/photos/7885864@N07/465177325/

Although I prefer not to have one at all ... It works great at cutting down the wind especially on the highway at high speeds.

I got it from secdem.

Look on Saeng's website. I think its Saeng.com. They have lots of choices for simple, small clamp on screens that mount to the handlebar. Easy 30 second on and off design. Not real stylish, but simple enough as to not look weird like some of the ugly ones that are trying to 'be' stylish.

I'm actually going to build my own. I want something that will fully surround the lights and offer just enough protection to keep some of the buffeting down. It also will need to look good and very hooligan, otherwise I won't put it on my bike.

I wonder if this:

Rocket III Fly Screen

could be modded to work. One of the problems is that the lights/gauges on the S3 attach to the frame, not the forks. That means something that mounts to the handlebars can't be too close to the lights since they don't move together.

Throw up a photo once you've built it. I'd love to have one similiar to the Buell windscreen. Just one solid piece of molded fiberglass/carbon fiber/plastic or metal.

This is what it would look like [roughly]:
