For someone who has enjoyed painting things matt black over the years, I have to say that the mblack speedie does nothing for me. That colour is for low profiling and to me that goes against the whole speedie "in your face, as$hole" character. And before going out for a ride I love polishing the shiny black paintwork... its foreplay.

So chrome and polished billet is 'in your face'? Sounds about as in your face as a Starbucks Mocha Late to me, lol. All the guys I've met with chromed out bikes have spent many more hours prettying up their bikes than actually learning how to ride it.

Is a Starbuck's latte some American icon?
I'm just saying that the S3 is a chunky package, including some of that dreaded chrome and billet, but as a bike it doesn't need to hide under a mblack frock. HD have been there, too, might suit them... maybe all those icons should be mblack? MBlack Macca's? MB Globetrotters....
I'm working on Easter Monday...allow me some slack.

Hey go with what you like. I've seen a lot of cool Speed Triples with polished frames. Its one of the few bikes that still look mean with a polished frame. I'm just not keen on chrome and showy looks. I like to keep mine black and wild, with a few red anodized bits here and there for highlights.

I think matt black is a good colour for the S3, so is gloss black, mine is "neon" blue.
Matt black will underscore the mean uglyness (yes thats what I said) that makes us love this bike. And yes they're following a bit of a trend but I think It'll work and If I had't just purchased one I'd be looking for one of these.
I'm sick of the billet this and the chrome that, all that underscores the times of excess we live in. If you want to bling your S3 so be it, It'll look good parked next to your Hummer rolling 22" dubs n spinners, just don't EVER call it CUTE.

Deuce deuce spinnas be played out yo, no bah d rolls dem no mo..... lol
I'm over black. Maybe its because I built up my supermoto in black and I'm going for a change. I'm dropping the loan check off on a white S3 tommrow and I am going to go with some machine finished parts to set it off. Still aggro, industrial and raw, just not dark.
Not to take away from your "ruffnes" but the S3 is so smooth compared to a 450 single in traffic..........

+1 if red = gold for me. I proably would have gotten matt black if it had been available. I am largely about operating under the radar screen. Speak softly and ride a mean triple.
