Caught the side of the tank on my 06 Triple with my kneeslider this morning leaving a bit of a scratch. Anybody know any methods of getting rid of the scratch? I know I'll probably have to put up with it seeing as it's a plastic tank, but any advice would be helpful.

P.S. Great biking weather here in Scotland at the moment (if you can believe that!)

Try machine buffing with a light polishing compound, Or, a cleaner wax.
You can try buffing it out by hand, A simple drill buffing attachment on low speed should get it done.

Its hard to recommend without knowing how deep the scratch is, Sometimes a little wet sanding helps before buffing.

If the scratches aren't too deep, I'd try 3M scratch remover. It comes in a tube paste formulation which worked well on removing some low front fender curb scratches on my car bumper last year. After rubbing it in with a cloth, the scratches were barely noticeable after several applications. From there, I sprayed a few layers of clear coat over it and buffed it out again. The scratches are barely noticeable even up close. Then again, I'm talking about a car and the lower bumper is a part that is hard to see.
