Snailster, Just buy an older used one, get a good deal so you wouldn't lose much if anything on re-sell. Then sell that and buy a new S3 when you find the new S3 you desire.

Well, there is always a better bike, computer, TV whatever just around the corner...when the 08's come out, the 09's will follow. You can enjoy an 07 now, or hope nothing else in your world changes and get an 08...
me, I'm gonna get on my 06 that I decided not to wait for and ride right now cause it's sunny & warm.

You guys have a point, it's like waiting for the perfect PC.
However, I could probably muster waiting another month,
have a ZRX on a neighbor island for the occasional spin.

I did search for a used S3 here on Oahu, but nothing for sale during the past couple of months, small state, too many Harleys. Thanks for ideas, though, will keep looking.

Motorcycle News in the UK recently posted a photo of an alleged 2008 S3. It would agree with those saying that
major changes are unlikely. Looks like the new Speedy will sport Brembo's and Marchesini (-like?) wheels.

yeah this has came up once already. it looks like
a metal gas tank
new rear tail light
new front brakes
mirrors look diff
new wheels
other minor changes I'm sure

If you are about to get a new S3 I'd hold out for the 08.
Or save some $ and buy a used one. I got a great deal on my 06. Bought it in December, only had 2004 miles on it and about $1300 in mods that I would have bought anyway.. had to drive to another state to pick it up but w/e

the changes to the 08 aren't big enough to make me want to go trade mine in. I'll wait till the second year of the next major change

Yeah, I am in that situation. Getting ready to buy,
but will probably wait for the '08. I have other bikes to
ride, so not wasting a riding season. Would not mind the new wheels (in black), and Brembo's, it they become reality.

Went to a Triumph dealer today, told the sales rep about the Brembo's, the Marchesiani's, the metal tank on the '08 S3, he called some guy at Triumph USA, and got back to me saying (in a rather condescending manner btw) that I was all wrong about the '08 S3. Will still have Nissin's, current wheels and plastic tank.
Was he just trying to sell me an '07 or the used (and rusty, albeit 1800 miles only ) '06 he had on the floor? If so, he could have given me better prices for the ones he had. I mean, $8,500 for a used '06 when blue book says $7,720?
OK, it's not the right season to buy a bike, but still, those NYC area dealers really aggravate me.

Dealers are usually the last to know anything, or at least able to admit anything. My guess is if they do anything significant for '08, it will be brakes and suspension. The engine is already world class.
