They fired half the office this morning due to the economic conditions in the mortgage industry. Not just this office but 25-30% of the company employees, approx 2,000 layoffs.

Well, I made round one, but needless to say it looks like everyone in this division is not safe over the next few months.

I just feel bad for everyone that lost their jobs, a lot of families depending on that income. I wish them all the best.

Hate to hear that, man. An acquaintance of mine is a contractor - just laid off a quarter of his workforce on accounta not enough business.
