Do any of you guys lust for one of the new SMs out there? The Aprilia SXV 5.5 has really got me going lately (twin cyl). The only one I've ridden is the KTM SM950. Very BAD (which is good). The Husky looks cool too. The Buell is an abortion to me. The smaller KTMs are cool. BMW is gonna do one too.

What do you guys think?

I too thought about the Aprilla, but as regular maintance it calls for piston and valve REPLACEMENT at 3000 miles, not good. I have a KTM 625 supermoto I use for track days and some hooligan street riding. I can say it's the most fun bike I have ridden and the KTM quality is more like a firearm than a motorcyle. My problem is I see something good in about every bike I see and then try to justify buying one!

I think that it would be awesome to have one as a second or third bike but i don't think they would cut it as the only ride unless you lived on a mountain or never left the city. I considered getting one, ktm's exc line is all street legal, you'd just have to swap the wheels from dirt to 17inchers. The main thing that scared me away was the fact that the serious SMs require serious maintenance.

Incidently, the supermoto forums don't even consider the ktm 950 to be a real supermoto. It's too big and heavy. :-D

Supermotos are nice.. But not for me.

But if I were to get a supermoto

the ktm 950 is by far the best. And I hear the motor kicks butt

i rode the zuk drzsm...it is a blast...to me the ktm950 is not really what supermoto is all about...its too big and weighs a lot...i also like the sxv but have heard some negative stuff about it
