Anyone know what has changed 06 vs 07. I think HP is up from 128 to 131... Why?

Also, I wonder if there is a limit on how many times the dealer can update your maps and if there really is a significant improvement. Anyone have their fuel mapping updated and their bike ran worse when they got it back?

I think the changes between '06 and '07 are the following:

1) New, second-generation Keihin ECU, giving slight horsepower increase, and more precise fuel metering, leading to better gas mileage.

2) New exhaust, with relocated cat and 02 sensor. (02 sensor is horizontal, under the tranny rather than vertical, behind it.)

3) Metal, rather than plastic, tank.

4) Yellow is gone - replaced by Roulette Green

It seems that these changes are 'running' changes, meaning some early '07s have only some of these changes. I think all three of these changes are in place on all the current, 'new' '07s

Actually there are some metal fuel tanks out there on newer 2007 models. It is just not clear if this is a running change for all markets or just for a few.

Due to the catalyst in the midpipe, the header is slightly different as well. Exhaust systems that replace the midpipe will not bolt up to newer bikes, but some companies are working on this.

Plus a smaller oil cooler plus new-shaped mirrors plus a shield down there where
pipes turn upwards...

Anyone have images of the '06 and the '07 exhausts to compare? I ask because didn't some of the early '07's still have the '06 exhaust? Thanks.

Easy to compare. The later ones have a heat shield on the midpipe (right after the header), the earlier ones don't.

Yes, some of the early 07 models have the earlier header, midpipe, silencers - a running change.

I have an Aussie '07

No heat shield down there (no cat converter either)

Outside of the tank seems metal (when I tap it it sounds metal), but when I fill her up the inside looks white - and plasticy

Yellow and Blue were discontinued here - only black, white and green available

New ECU and I even heard someone say throttle body difference

Also heard about the updated brakes, but the little riding I did on the demo's I didn't notice - at least compared to the other demo bikes and my "i'll take the braking easy on a bike I'm not 100% familiar with"

I will be taking some pics later and will likely post

These were all running changes made in the 2006 model year.
