To void a warranty claim they would have to be able to prove that removing the SAI caused the problem that led to the warranty claim......but then you couldn't take em to court over it.....removing the SAI is probably illegal

It all depends on the type of claim. If your frame broke they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. If the engine overheated they might try it but would be technically wrong. If your exhaust turned brown they probably would have a good case. Oh wait, they do that anyway!
You can always put it back on before you take it in. The only real reason to remove it is to add a cold air intake.
gimme a holler or look at some of my posts there is a way to block it off and have them none the wiser , i left the components on the bike but no air gets into my exhaust and unless you start the dissasembly process
you would not know it
