I'd like to try a Buell, just sorta to say I have. There are a couple of guys, nice folks I guess, who sometimes show up on these gizmos. I've patiently listened to hours of 'em sayin' how great they handle, how fast they are, etc. Since I haven't ridden one, I don't feel I should tell 'em how wrong they are.

It's a freakin' HARLEY, fer chrissakes. As noted elsewhere, the two Buell XBRRs at Daytona this year, with a 1339 cc engine - yes, more displacement per cylinder than the total for most of the class - still managed to lose to not only the 600s, but the 675 Daytonas as well.

We used to have 2 Buell test bikes. Never felt like it was making power anywhere. What can you expect from an engine best suited for agriculture?

I rode one at Cyclefest a few years ago. Just as I expected, it was total garbage. You had to beat the Hell out of it to get it moving. I thought perhaps my opinion was a bit skewed as I normally rode an Aprilia at the time but none of my buddies seemed to care for them either.

The Buell that's even worse is the Blast 500. That hunk of poo is downright dangerous to ride on public roads.
