Just picked up my '07 S3 from it's 1st service.

Got home, looked over the charge sheet, and whilst it says "Check ECM for stored DTC's" there's nothing about remapping the ECM.

Do Triumph ship these things with a different map for the break in period as some other poster here are saying?

Or is it just a standard map?

I won't talk about oil here either.... I'll leave that one until I can work out a way to word it so it lookes like a new topic! ;-)

Cheers

As I understand it, they just plug in their OBD link and get a readout. If any codes come up, they address them, then clear the codes and reset. If there are no codes, its like a 1-minute process, once they get to the plug. Maybe the reset is being confused with a remap :???:

My dealer is OK with me doing my own oil and other no-brain maintenance, as long as he gets to do the stuff you need equipment to check. I'm going in for my 6000 mile check next week - we'll see how they do :-D

There was no break in map for the 05-06 bikes, seriously doubt the 07 has one. I had the TORS map in my second one before it was first started.

Triumph does hace a very conservative break in procedure. No human has actually followed it.

Cheers guys.

Was going to phone the dealer.... but figured I'd get a faster (and impartial) response here.

Good forum this innit? :-D

Picked up my 07 S3 Tuesday last week

Trying hard to keep to the guide on the tank - interestingly the manual only specified 2 rev limits

The dealer however told me to make sure that i hit red line a couple of times before i take it back for 1st service. Something the tank and manual say not to do for 500km (300mi) after 1st service

As far as fuel map... not sure - i guess i will find out in the next couple of weeks - i am already half way to 1st service mileage
