Something just wasn't right today. I dropped pressure due to the cold nature of the Cresson Track and the fact that we started out today in the 40s. It warmed up to almost 70, but in the morning I was tip toeing all over the place like riding in the rain almost.

It really sapped my confidence and I rode like caca, even after the tires started working better. It didn't help that I ran with the fast group. Practically everyone was passing me. Shiite. I hate it when I'm downshifting for the corner that appears to be screeming toward me, while some guy (or girl!!!!!!) goes by me +40 mph faster and hasn't even touched the brakes or downshifted yet.

Just weren't my day!!!

It happens! At least you did not crash. I try to run with the Intermediate group most of the time and sometimes I move up to the Advanced class and get a little shy at times. I got hurt a couple of times and it has taken me a little while to feel comfy again.

You will get it back!!! Confidence can not be rushed.

Sometimes your mind and your body aren't really conecting that well. It's nothing to fret over. I used to have days like that in the service where things just weren't lining up right. My old Sgt. used to tell us "It's just your turn today. Everyone has an off day."

Go back again and you'll feel better. Try getting more sleep and eating a healthy breakfast after a good morning work out, it helps.

Always better to ride with some haste then push too hard and dump it.

I was at the track with my cage a few weeks back and was running horribly and pushed too hard and had a nice slide in the rocks which did wonders for the paint. Wish I would have kept it in check and not gone off.

A cold track and cold tires will sap your confidence. I did a track day at the end of Oct and the first two sessions just sucked. It felt like the rear tire was sliding out on about every other turn. It took until the afternoon for me to gradually regain enough confidence to start pushing again.

You get to pick your group? I've been riding with NESBA and they decide which group you're in. If I rode with the fast group I would be such a corker.

that can be disheartening...but i can clearly remember once when i had that same feeling when a guy on a BRAND new duc 999 went flying past me as i was breaking...yeah he ended up going straight into the stones and totally fcuked up his bike!...i'll take ridin within my limits and stayin shiny side up any day!...a crash will ding your confidence a lot more than gettin passed :hammer:
