Hello,

First post but Ive been trolling the forums for a while. Ive had my eye on the S3 for some time now and I recently found what sounds like a sweet deal on a new 06. I got a quote OTD (including tax, registration, and plates) for $8,960. It seems like a good deal as the local dealer quoted the same bike (except with an arrow exhaust) for $11,200. Only thing is that the bike is 4 hours away compared to the local dealership here (15 minutes away), not a big deal though.

I feel like I should jump on this but I wanted to see what you guys think about the price. This bike will be a big upgrade for me, my first bike was a buell blast back in 2003 which pretty much left me bored after 3 months of riding. I don't think I'll ever outgrow the S3 so I'm pretty sure I won't need to replace it for a long time. This would be my first new bike, in fact my first new anything so any input or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's a pretty good deal if you ask me. I myself just picked up a brand new 2006 S3 last week, and I got if for $9100.00 OTD. I would jump on it, but that's me.

Go for it. It all sounds too cheap anyway. We pay 17 grand OTD here. No discounts. Pay the man, take the Speedie.
And its still well worth it. (I think we get paid more than you guys...as a rule, but then we need to or else we wouldn't be buying motorbikes) So anything less than 10 grand appears a bargain.
You WILL want noisier pipes. No doubt about that. I can't believe anyone who says they like the std sound. I am about to spend up on ANYTHING that can make my Pit Bull bark. All the best.

FYI the list price on the Arrow exhaust is $1300. I don't know how much tax you have to pay in MI but that sounds like a good deal. Chattanooga was selling them all year for $8888. But then you had to pay taxes & registration when you got it home.

Do it! Mine was the first new anything I had ever purchased also. I am pretty poor, so it was scary at first and I ate soup a LOT, but every time I was depressed , jumped on the bike and remembered it was worth it!!
