Well, I finally got everything buttoned back up and fired Stella up today. I kept finding "one more thing" I wanted to do while I had things apart.
I had blocked off the SAI long ago but had not actually removed the reed valves, solenoid, etc. So I traced around the stock fittings and band sawed some block off plates and gaskets. I found some button dead screws but had to shorten them since the plates are about 4 mm thinner than the stock hardware.
I also replaced the spark plugs with NGK CR9EIX Iridium plugs. Lots of people have been reporting corrosion and rusted plugs. My stock plugs were not corroded but I could see some corrosion in the head. I sprayed Corrosion X in the plug well and put some grease around the coil-on-plug body to try to seal it a little better.
I had a h#ll of a time getting the airbox properly sealed to the throttle bodies. Several times the spring gaiters popped off the rubber velocity stacks and I had to pull the airbox off again. Greasing the velocity stacks really helped getting it on properly. I also had to bend the airbox mounting bracket a little to get the screws back in with everything connected flush. I think it now fits better than originally.
Stella fired up pretty quickly considering the fuel line had been opened. The exhaust flow at idle is much better balanced between the left and right mufflers than before. I think that is due to the hours of grinding I did on the O2 sensor boss and internal seams. The exhaust note is definitely throatier. I think it is also louder at idle and part throttle/cruise operation. WOT seems about the same.
Throttle response with the modified header, link pipe & ECU map is definitely much sharper. Wheelies are much easier. It used to take a rapid application of full throttle to power wheelie but I pulled several part throttle power wheelies in my short ride. It was below 50 degrees and getting on toward dusk so I didn't ride long or push too hard in the corners. Too many stories of people dropping it on cold tires.
Overall I am very pleased.

Many thanks to Devi for porting the header, performing the catendectomy and developing the ECU tune. It is easy to follow in the footsteps of the true innovators.
