what would you recommend to gain some power in the midrange?

The problem for me here in Sweden is the volume off the thing..it can´t be too loud...is there a compromise?

In my humble opinion, the STOCK mapping is very lean in the midrange. The TORS tune adds some fuel for additional flow in the exhaust with aftermarket silencers, but does not address the midrange.

This is why tuning the fuel and timing maps can gain impressive amounts of torque through the midrange and top end of the powerband.

Last summer I rode with open cans and stock map. With wideband on a dyno the midrange was lean and the top end rich but the torque curve was very linear. The engine ran very nicely and I could not tell seat of the pants that there was anything wrong. Yes the engine will run and pull just fine with stock map.

Yes donate a bunch of ear plugs to the Traffic Cops!
That way your cans won't seem loud.
Or come to Malta, so far Cops don't bother us about cans.

wow, i like it. i'm a little concerned that it would interfere with your heel though (i have big feet and wear boots all the time).

Wow, Someone beat me to this. I just ordered one today in Titanium for my '06. I wanted something unique that no one had yet. I ordered mine from PJ over at PJsParts.com and got a great deal. Mine should be here in about two weeks, since he has them shipped direct from Italy. I will post pictures and make a sound file or video as soon as I can get it installed.

Today was the first time I talked to PJ and he is a stand up guy. He told me that they are the OEM exhaust maker for Aprila I think, and the quality is first rate. I am sure there are plenty of dealers in Europe, but State side I know PJ has them.

His advice was to buy the Type Approved model. They are the same can but the non-race one has a Db-killer installed. The Db-killer can be removed by taking out one small rivet and you have a race can, and you can put the Db-killer back in using a single screw or fastener of your choice. There is a few pictures of the carbon fiber version on the MIVV site, and also a video with sound of a Triple on a Dyno with the GP can on it. The one in the video has a longer extension on it than the one in the picture, but it IS a short low mount exhaust.

Mivv's are fairly common over here. Seem good quality and sound.

Yes they look and sound very good. And above all reduce the weight a lot. Good price to!
I would just hope they run good with the TORs tune since I already got it installed. :-)

Well first things first, i still got the test the TORs that I got from Spendthrift.

Have you got your Mivv gp pipe yet?
The reason I ask is because I've got the carbon one coming in a week or so & I'm interested to see how easy the fitting is going to be.

It will be delivered today! I will be installing it this afternoon after my shift is over. It's raining in Denver so no rides today but tomorrow I will be riding. I will post some pictures tonight. I will give some progression shots.

I have a friend with an FZ1 and his went on very easy, and all parts were a perfect fit.
