I'm looking at getting a suit for track days and some weekend rides.
I never tried Joe Rocket stuff. I like A-Star stuff but the $$$$ cost
more then I have to spend. I would like to stay in the 500.00
to 600.00 range Are there better suites for the money?
Has any one gone down in one? How do they hold up?
I'm not the smallest person ether 6'2 220-225lbs
NO back hump....

Boots?????? I would like to stay in the 200.00 or less?????????

2pc suit

There's all kinds of good sales and close outs on stuff if you want perforated leathers. Teknic has some good stuff that's seemed pretty reasonable. Joe Rocket stuff is kind of cut wide in the waist, in my opinion, and makes you look like you have a load in your drawers.

I don't know the build quality of AGV or Shift, but there's been TONS of sales on this stuff. Dennis Kirk has a lot of these two brands in 2 piece on sale for around $500

check Dennis Kirk's outlet, newenough.com, kneedraggers.com, and bike bandit. They had some really good deals, on really small stuff and really large stuff (around your size).

I just picked an A-star jacket for $200 (Dennis Kirk) and the track pants for $330 (kneedraggers).

Just make sure what you pick up has the full circumference zipper, and not the little short 6" one on the back.

Boots, I bought Sidi Vertigos, spent more than I wanted, but they are fantastic, and worth every penny. You might want to check out Oxstar boots, I've seen them at pretty reasonable prices lately, but not sure if it's been under $200.

Check this site http://www.metricbikes-superstore.com, sorry it's not a link, i can't seem to post pics or links still. Is there somehting I need to do to my computer because of the turks?

Anyway, i've heard the GPX suit id good. I've got a Speedmaster jacket, I like it, it's a bit squidly, but ht eprice was right. I'll be buying matching pants. I was told to go to a shop to try the suit on before I bought it, sounds like good advice. I've bought from the above website before, they're good to deal with. they list the GPX suit (2 piece) for $514 :hammer:

I picked these up the other night at my local Cycle Gear

Ventair Jacket

Strike-2 Leather Pants

They had a late-night (7-9pm) 10% off everything sale. These were about $460 out-the-door :-D

They zip together to be track-day eligible

One other thing about Frank Thomas - its a British company, even though the leathers I have are made in Pakistan :???: . They also sell those Roo-leather gloves the Aussies say wear really well. The jacket and pants are very comfortable on Speedy, and allow for pretty decent movement around the bike. :-D
