keep in mind I'm tall-ish and always fidgeting about with things and am constantly dancing between bars and clip-ons and also fell like I juuuust fit the bike.
The lower risers allows for a slight ergonomic adjustment, canting you forward just a tad but I like that as although comfortable, the straighter up posture of the stock setup just seemed a hair bit too close to me, like I could use the bars an inch or two away from me (long arms), especially when flinging corners. It's not major mind you but enough so that I notice the slight difference.
I wouldnt call it a determining factor to dump the stock setup just to get these though, it's just another flavor that is ever so slightly different from the stock. I like that I'm made to orient more of my weight over the front end as I already feel that bars reduce the feel and feedback of what the front end is doing when compared to clip-ons.
Again, it's not a major change or any thing, it's mostly an aesthetic change but the lower risers do toss in a treat or two.
I also dont think I've had enough time with them so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, it's only been a week and the weather is ***** so I've not ridden at all since the day I put them on and then only for an hour of very reseved riding because I also had brand new slippery tires on my bike.
No need for any cables at all, everything works with the stock pieces.
Oh, I also had to use my stock riser nut and bolt as the ones rizoma supplied were waaay to tall and will not fit on the S3.
