I was just looking online for bike dealers in South Florida, and found a company that specializes in selling/parting out damaged bikes. According to the website, These bikes come with one of the following designations on their title.
Certificate of Destruction= Cannot be registered in every state, Check with your local DMV
Rebuilt Title= Was a Rebuildable title that needed an inspection to be able to be registered and has since gone thought and passed it’s inspection from the DMV.
Rebuiltable Title= Needs an inspection from the DMV in order to have the title changed to a rebuilt title. It can then be registered in every state
Parts only, Bill of sale, and unrebuildable or unrepairable certificate= Export only or parts only bikes.
Salvage title bikes are bikes that have a rebuilt title.
Some of these bikes were totalled because body damage exceeded the insured cost. Normally, it CAN be a good deal if the steering head and frame are straight, and the engine/transmission has no structural damage. The title will always say 'Salvage', though.
