Well, after a 4 hour ride today.... I can officially say.... by butt hurts! Ol' Isabelle isnt meant for long cruising rides.... more of a wam bam thank you ma'am type of gal.
I know there are some places that make some seats for the S3 even though I cant for the life of me remember who they are. But I had another thought.....
has any one ever thought of a seat with perferated leather? But heres the kicker.... those useless air vents under the seat..... create some little ducts through the box and into some holes in the bottom of the seat! Figure for us warm weather guys.... it'd help keep the boys a bit cooler and maybe prevent some batwing action.
Thoughts? ideas? Any input welcome here!

Corbin (I have one), and Sargent seem to be the two main aftermarket Speedy seat makers. It's possible that Corbin will do perforated leather.

I gotta admit I haven't done any long rides on Speedy yet (only about 420k day).
I did some big rides on the 05 Sprint with the OEM seat (which is better) and found the only day I was sore was on the 1150km ride home from Phillip Island in one day. The 900km home from Bendigo was fine.
When I do a long ride I wear cycling knicks under my leathers. That chamois really makes a difference. On the ride home from the island I didn't have the knicks as I forgot them (doh!) and as I said, was pretty sore. The ride home from Bendigo I did, no aches and pains the next day at all.
A reasonable pair of knicks is a great investment - $50-80!
I'll let you know how the Speedy's seat goes when I go to the island in March.

It's not bad at all Legman, but I'd not rate it quite as good as the Sprints oem seat. Looking at your list of bikes, I'd put the Sprint at equal or better to the old ZZR1100 seat.
Maybe it's just needing to get used to the slightly harsher suspension (which I haven't adjusted yet) and the slightly different seating position (which I do feel more comfortable on now, than 2 wks ago).

Stock seat was uncomfortable after an hour. I went with a Sargent saddle. Very comfy, good quality & workmanship. Customer service is very good. People are very happy with the Corbin saddles. The other choice is to custom rebuild the stock saddle.

I have a Corbin saddle on my Speed Triple, and I'm very happy with it.
Another option is to rebuild the seat yourself using Kemmler Air2Gel Foam. Kemmler even makes a cycle seat insert for USD $35 that can be used.
Kemmler products
I hope this helps.

I second ruscook. Wear GOOD cycling shorts directly against the skin.

I would think perf. leather would let dampness into the foam and retain moisture and destroy the seat.
