I just traded an 05/06 Sprint ST in for a lovely white 07 Speed Triple. Like you I ride at least 90% of the time solo. I'm enjoying the lightness, and the more responsive motor of the S3. It's a great bike. I've only done a few small rides to date, but don't miss the fairing of the Sprint yet. Yes @ 130kph or above you feel the wind a lot more. So it will obviously be colder in winter. I rode the 35km to work in light rain the other day and was no damper (leathers not w/proofs) than I would have been on the Sprint.

Would I change back, not at the moment. I have the ventura rack fitted and it turns in over the pillion seat/wheel to keep weight over the axle. I can also wear a back pack with the small ventura bag on the rack, or just use the bag/rack if I put the big 45/50ltr jobbie on. I find the large bag is fine for clothes, spares, maps and camera for a 4-7day jaunt. The small bag for day to day and 1 to 2 day o'nighters.

Whichever you get enjoy.

Captain, I said Captain..... er sorry..

I tour a lot on my S3, but never two up. I have the same ventura luggage that Ruscook has. Here is a photo of mine, with two bags zipped together, the bigger bag with the heaviest gear is over the seat. Handling is not absolutely primo, but is more than ok for most of what I do when I'm touring.

The combined total of both bags is about 85 litres...you can get a lot of stuff into 85 litres. I'm also gonna get a tank bag...prolly the Triumph factory one.

The ventura rack is easy to fit and remove...about 10 mins. total.

I've toured on every bike I've ever owned and some have been better at it than others. This S3 may not appear at first glance to be ideal, but it eats the miles with the best of them, and I find it very comfortable, including the stock seat.

and what ever you do on this bike......you will have a sh!t eating grin on your face the whole time... :-D
