I was under the impression from everyone here and my dealer that with every 2004 a factory seat cowl is included. I bought the bike and they said they couldn't find it, and that they would order it along with the owners manual. Now he is telling me he was mistaken and tat the 03's came with the cowl, and the 04's don't. I have yet to confront him about the issue, but if I am unable to resolve this with him, can I go through Triumph to make them get it for me. I think it's a crock of s*** that they would try to screw me out of it. This dealer has been a hassle and not very knowledgable the entire time. I was limited to dealers though. Thanks guys.

See my posting "SP3 vs Aprilia Tuono - resolved". There seems to be a problem with Triumph dealers and I am only glad that I did not purchase the bike before I found this out. The SP3 is a great bike but I am too old to deal with bad dealer service.

I purchased a brand new cowl for my '02 for $140 from a dealer who said it came of a brand new '04 daytona where the buyer said he didn't want it. - yea right. I'm hoping to run into a flyscreen where the buyer didn't want that either.

He owes you about $120 wholesale for the cowl that I'm pretty sure comes standard with '04's.

Go to this page:

Triumph USA Speed Triple Specs

Print it out, shove it in your dealers face and tell him that...

"Standard Equipmet Accessories: Seat Hump and Fly Screen"

Is right in the marketing literature.

If he doesn't deliver and you want to burn the bridge, call Peter Carillo (is that how it's spelled all?) at Triumph in Georgia. There is no room for rude and cheating dealers. Let them go sell hondas (no offense honda owners).

As far as the Tuono buyer: I'm glad you found your ride. Enjoy it, but why continue belaboring the point that your dealer experience was bad? The boards here are super upbeat, unlike some other forums I used to visit. I always appreciate anyone's motorcyle input and advice, but please keep it positive - not "I didn't like so I bought another brand and it seems systematic" (sorry to paraphrase). Yep, had a bad day
