I saw this video on the ducati site. Its a little long, but it ties in nicely with zooplancton's post (I can call 'em).

good video. from experience i'd sAY the duc rider was the better rider. usually when you can stay on someone's as$ like that, that means your most likely faster. he lost a few hole-shots, but could have passed the other guy several times.

was actually surprised the wreck happened. that could have been a lot worse.

I agree, zoo. The duc rider looked a lot smoother. I guess your friend would say the Bimota had 'a wide apex' :-D

A good argument for a trackday. Too fast for the street, and howmuch are those Bimotas? I would agree that th eDuc rider looked pretty smooth, appeared to get of the bike better than the other guy, but succomed to target fixation at the end. :hammer:

Good video. Good save by the guy on the Duc to get it slowed down. I don't know about the guy on the Duc being a "better" rider but he was the "safer" rider. It's a whole lot easier to follow and get right up to someone's ass then it is to pass and lead. When you follow another rider you're able to use them as a brake marker so you can judge how much deeper you can go into a corner before you have to brake. When you're out in front all you have is your own guts and feelings.

Two knuckleheads luckier than they deserved to be. Next time, they'll probably take out some innocent bicyclist or head-on a car.

That video made my palms sweat...I like watching that stuff because it makes me realize why I never ride like that on the street. I barely have the balls to do that stuff on the track let alone with cars and unknown debris on the road. He got what he deserved, I was just waiting for it to happen, with all that speed there was bound to be a mistake made.

To me safer IS better. I'd rather ride with a guy on the road who shows a bit of prudence and patience rather than wanton recklessness. Save it for the track. You want to get nuts and see what your bike can really do? Go to the track.

When I was in the service we NEVER took guys onto our team who were balls out crazy. Those kinda people get you killed. Same on a bike. I don't ride with knuckleheads. My favorite riding partner is an ex-japanese circut rider. He knows when it's appropriate to ride fast and when it's not.

These videos are a blast to watch though. God loves an idiot, they keep him busy and provide the rest of us with late night entertainment.

I agree Arashi, hard to tell who's the better rider as it is easier to follow than lead. I guess, I do 5-10kph faster on some roads when following just because I've got someone to show the camber, the radius etc of corners....
