I wear this in the dirt.... I know a few people who wear it on the street as well. I can attest it has saved my ass MANY of times. You should see the scars in mine! I've taken boulders to the chest with it at probably 20-30 and only had the wind knocked out of me. I think youre pretty much screwed if you impact anything straight on at over 40 anyways..... you'd just crush..... but that thing keeeps the road rash away

I've heard great things about the 661 Preasure suit as well.... more padding from what I've seen in person.... but alot hotter when its on ya. thats the main reason I went with the EVS.... more mesh since all my riding is in the hot ass desert.

There's a lot of body armor available to motorcyclists that's been tested to withstand crashes on pavement and dirt. I wouldn't buy something designed for a crash in snow.

You can hit rocks and trees while skiing.

skiing doesnt usually cause road rash when you crash

Good point, Goffe. Not much snow in Hawaii so I wasn't thinking about that possibility. Looking back at the pictures in jrussel6's post, the only difference from motorcycle gear is apparently in the area of elbows and knees.
