I'm looking at gettng an 07' S3 but I wanted to know if you can reverse shift (Race pattern) an S3 without buying new rearsets? Anyone here with an 05'07' S3 that did this mod? I've been riding like that for awhile and it wouldn't make sense to have two bikes with different shift patterns. Thanks for the help guys and I hope I'll be joining you guys soon as an S3 owner!

I changed mine over by turning the transmission lever over. Fit okay except it hit the side stand during operation. No workie. I switched it back without messing with it any further. May work with a shorter arm or with no stand.

Thanks Littlefield! I had a feeling it would get in the way if you flip it but I had to make sure. I'm hoping there's an aftermarket rearset that will allow me to reverse the shift pattern. If there's anyone else out there with an 05'-07' S3 who has done it please let me know how or what brand rearset did you buy. Thanks!

I think that the shifter arm from a speed four mated to directly to the shifters shaft would reverse it, I heard sometime back that it will bolt directly on.

Just like littlefield, I decided having a stand was more important than reverse shift pattern and changed it back as it was. I guess if you are going to ride it on a track you could take the kick stand off and just use a track stand or docking stand in the pits. If you find rearsets that make reverse shifting possible, let us know!

or just get a Motech Centerstand and lose the side stand completely.

I'll look into that. It shouldn't cost that much for that part...Thanks for the idea!

Well my GSXR is my track bike so that's why I'm looking at getting the S3 for the streets. I'm hoping that all aftermarket rearsets will allow reverse shifting...

If I'm not mistaken Giles rearsets allow reverse shifting. (says so right on the site) http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/..._--612097.html
