how do you remove your rear reflectors on '03 S3's (the red ones that hang under the rear seat). It looks like there must be a bolt on the inside but I have no idea how to get to it. Do I have to take apart the back of the bike to get those reflectors off?
Thanks

mine are held on with what looks like pop-rivets. the heads could be ground off with a dremel from underneath but then the top part of the rivets are above the undertray rolling around. with my luck, that would be like a black cloud hanging over my head. i figure to leave the reflectors alone until i chop the rain gutter 'cause the back will be apart at that time.

i know one guy who just snapped the reflector brackets off leaving the flat part with rivets flush against the undertray in place. not noticable unless one were to bend down and look up under his bike.

Yup...they are pop-rivets. I just used a drill and drilled them out when I did my fender eliminator kit. You can, as mentioned before me, grind the heads off the rivets and have the same result. I took the entire seat fairing off to gain access to everything and this of course makes it much easier to get the bits of rivet out. BTW...it does look a LOT better without the reflectors! Next on the list...smaller turn signals!

I wonder if you ground off the tops and had the pop rivets rolling around in your back seat area if they would just fall out on the road, I know that there is an opening toward the battery area. I think I will just sawoff the exposed part and leave the screws there, like you said -- no one will see it unless they look under the bike.
PS-- I suggest you get the Buell smoked out turn signals, they're about the same size but they look great and they fit right in. I did have a little trouble reaching the wires in the back but thats a problem with any turn signal swap.

I took mine off by drilling out the pop rivets from underneath. By doing it this way, you won't ruin the reflectors in case you want to put them back on. It took me about 2 min. to do this. If you want the front reflectors off as well, they are just bolted on.
