here is a stand i made o couple of weeks a go but i had trouble getting the pin to fit , i made the pin out of 1 inch tgp bar stock and then turned a bronze bushing to 1.100 which is just shy of 28 mm , the hole is 28 mm from the swing arm side for about 5 inches , but mine had ridge about one and a half inches in that would not let my pin bushing combo go through , i took a reamer today at work and set it to 1.100 , its an adjustable and ran it throught he hole , it cleared out a bunch o ***** that was hard as a rock but wasnt metal . it works great now , the wheel turns the bushing on the shafting so there is less damage to the bore of the spindle

i made tha stand out of 1-1/4 dom tubing with a 1/4 wall and the handle is 1 -1/4 stainless

i turned out the wheels from aluminium stock and bronze bushed them as well , using 3/4 shoulder bolts welded in the ends of the tubing for axles , a little blue paint and bobs your uncle

to do it again , i would change the handle angle a bit it just misses the peg

Nice work.

For my peace of mind, I just bought a rear stand that I was unable to get through that ridge. Any ideas what that was in your hole?

I need to get rid of that sh1t as well.

I'll take one in black, please :upthumb:

That's some kinda resin or such inside the hub. I actually bought a Pitbull stand and when I tried it out on the brand new S3 in the shop, the spindle wouldn't fit. Me an' the salesdude scratched our heads, 'cause the stand was the proper one for the Triumph. He told me to take it home and try it and bring it back if it didn't work.

Fit fine on my bike, which was old enough that the goop was no longer present.

Nice looking stand there Henry. I'm a little envious of your skills, as i'm about to fork out $200 for a Pitbull.

hell i think i got 5 or 6 hours in making the thing , i did it while i had some other machines running .

tools i got , snap on calls me to check stock :-D

plus i work at pretty well equiped machine and fab shop .

i dont think ill be making any more , i am going to build a front screw lift when it gets colder

i used an adjustable reamer to clean out the hole , i can set it with a micrometer to just barely rub the parts that were not funked up

i got my measurement of the inside of the spindle " thats what it is "

with inside gages and micrometer , the reason i rode in this morning solely

mine measured 1.104-1.107 in the area that wasnt grunged

the grunged are was only one quater to three eighths long about
one and five eighths in from the swingarm side.

i dont know what someone could do if they did not have access to a machine shop .

you could try to put some type of solvent coated rag in there and see iif it softens , then use a stiff wire brush

or use a straight one inch wire brush in a die grinder to scrub it out
