To all you Brake Issue doubters and whingers... that continually doubted there was a brake issue... that derided those of us that believed Triumph should fix them... That said we were wasting our time... that said we should shut up and just fix the problem ourselves... that said Triumph would never cave in and fix them... :moon:

I just had email confirmation from my Dealer in Australia. They have just been notified officially of the free fix and they have ordered pistons for me.

Thanks to Matt Thompson for doing much of the hard work.
My faith in Triumph is fully restored!

hay man,
i hate to rain on your parade, but the new pistons doesn't fix the brake 'issue'.
i had the job done recently and i'm back to square one.
i'm thinking it's prolly time to just buy a whole other caliper myself. we'll see if triumph chokes it down first. i'm tired of this.

good luck, but i had to let ya know brutha.

Yeh, I heard some reports replacing pistons hadn't worked and others that it did.

Are you absolutely sure they replaced them with the most current ceramic coated pistons? ...and not just new uncoated ones?

The new 2007 S3s reportedly have the brake issue sorted and the brake calipers are, visually at least, identical to the older ones. One would have to guess they simply have the ceramic coated pistons already fitted.

Oh well, I'll find out soon enough and report back...

My guess is that they do not have a slightest idea what you are talking about.

I'll be REAL interested in whether this pans out, as the channel-lock trick and occasional bleed-with-a-gallon-of-DOT4 thing is gettin' old. Probably too early to contact my dealer about it, but if anyone else in the U.S. gets confirmation that Triumph is indeed doin' it, I'll be on the phone.

alright, called my shop just now and my VIN does fall in the segment of triples that apparently are going to get revisited. they are going to look into the ceramic vs. uncoated first part of january, so let's keep these fingers crossed.
reporting back later.
