I want to know if the M4 hurts bottom end or midrange power at all. Anybody notice a difference?

Thanks again Tek; I was kinda addressing this thread toward you since you are they're official spokesman or something like that. If I decide not to cut up my header, the M4 is next!

'bikeman', I tried to order the M4 pipe from a dealer near me and get a little better price and they told me to just order it direct because they don't really get that much of a break on the price.

So far I love the pipe! Feels like the bike is more like a 750 now then a liter bike. With all that weight off the a$$ end and up high it definitely transitions left and right a lot quicker. I weighed the parts but forgot to include the 'Y' pipes off the old system. With the pegs included and the weight of the new pipe subtracted off, I came up with 14-15 lbs. lighter. Will have to weigh the 'Y' pipe tomorrow.

'Stuck', I'm still running the 'stock' tune. Suprised it even ran with it. Haven't had time or good weather to get over to the dealer for the TOR tune yet. But, so far it seems to run stronger up top and a little less 'immediate' torque on the very bottom. When stock, the 'immediate' bottom torque right off idle sometimes was too abrupt and made the bike a bit jerky until you got used to it. I'll give another report in a few weeks 'if' I can get a break in the weather so I can get over to the dealer. TOR map should be an improvement.

A note on the sound. It can be described as Deeeeep. Seemed a little loud the first time I fired it up, but I'm used to it now. The stock system was soooo quiet. It doesn't seem to get a lot louder when you accelerate up the rev's like I thought it would. A short pipe with a large exit diameter (M4's is 2") gives a deeper sound than longer smaller diameter pipes. I know because I built a set for myself before I bought the M4.

Sorry for the long post, but I never seem to get 'enough' info when I read some of the answers to questions here.

Thank you, that was the answer I was looking for. I was a little worried that such a free flowing pipe would hurt the bottom end. If the difference is minimal like it sounds, I don't think I will have problem. I want to hear one. I want the deepest sound possible without hurting performance.

I had an M4 but found the noise to harsh , I have switched to a two bros and found the same power with a more deep mellow tone, but the m4 was still not as bad as the D&D.

So I recomend the 2 bros over the M4.

Quick question: Do either of you know if it fits the '07, as the stock exhaust changed slightly?

Thanks.
