Jim, it seems to work ok for me. I've seen worse. Took me awhile to realize that I should click in the topic column when opening the results of a search.
A feature missing (but quite usefull) in search is to have the "matching" words be bolded or colored in such a way as to make them easily spotted when scanning the threads.
While on the topic of annoyances, the site won't let me link my own avatar. Or am I too thick to figure out how to do it?
it seems that when using "advanced" search and selecting "search for all of the terms" and "search all forums" i get hits in one or more forums and those hits appear to be on-topic to my specified search.
what am i missing? :???: heck, maybe my expectations are too low.
