I'm finally replacing the stock tires with the new Avon AV45/46 and was wondering the metric size of this nut. I managed to use a 1 13/16 socket but would like to get the correct size before I re install the tires. I remembered someone mentioning a 36mm but this is way too small so I'm figuring at least a 40mm or larger. Thanks for the help.

Keep us posted on how the Avons work out... I'll be shopping for tires soon and have heard good things about the Avons...

The actual metric size is 46mm which is 1.811" and the
1-13/16 is 1.8125", so they are pretty much interchangeable.

Thanks for all the help everyone, I used the conversion charts in my machine shop tonite and also came up with the 46mm socket. Hopefully I can get one before next weekend so I can try the new tires out. This will be the second Triumph to get shod with Avons since my prior Trophy 3 got a set of the first generation Azaros. I managed to get a little over 8000 miles with these before trading that bike towards the Speed 3. I haven't heard from the new owner but my Dad has a set of the Azaro 2's on a Hawk GT with great mileage thus far. I'll be sure to keep you posted on the new tires since the northern NY climate doesn't allow too many months of riding. Thanks again
